In the fall of 2017, Sommerseth Design was approached by Sem&Stenersen Prokom to design the logo and chatbot avatar, Kari. Little did we know at the time how popular she would become. A big thank you to Richard Hovdsveen for yet another exciting project.

Kommune-Kari is a chatbot developed to improve communication between citizens and municipal services. She was introduced in Sandefjord Municipality in 2017 and has since been implemented in 118 municipalities across the Nordics and Europe. Kommune-Kari handles over 6,000 different topics, from opening hours to application deadlines, and has helped reduce phone inquiries by up to 30%. In 2021, an app was also launched, making it even easier for residents to get answers to questions and receive important updates directly on their mobile phones.
